MOUNTAINSIDE: New “classroom in the forest” was inaugurated in Italy 

With the inauguration of the Marteloscope at Faeto – Edolo, UNIMONT – a University of Milan hub, offers its students a “classroom in the forest” included in the European network of integrated educational forests which represents a unique opportunity for those who intend to study the mountains in the mountains. 

The Marteloscope at Faeto – Edolo was inaugurated during a two-day event organized by UNIMONT, center of excellence of the University of Milan, as part of the NRRP Agritech Project, in collaboration with the Comunità Montana di VallecamonicaConsorzio Forestale Alta Valle Camonica and D.R.E.A.M. Italia

This new “classroom in the forest” will allow UNIMONT students to simulate forestry intervention and verify outcomes directly in the field, allowing a real-time comparison of motivations and consequences. The Marteloscope at Faeto – Edolo is an open space for discussion and for raising awareness on the potential of well-managed forest communities, a meeting point between local actors and sector operators and a powerful tool to encourage the dissemination of knowledge on issues related to the conservation of forest biodiversity and climate change mitigation. 

The “classroom in the woods” at Faeto – Edolo contributes to making UNIMONT‘s training offer unique and represents a key opportunity for those who intend to study the mountains in the mountains. 

The Master’s Degree Course “Valorization and Sustainable Development of Mountain Areas” – MOUNTAINSIDE is an international study path, entirely in English, which trains expert professionals of mountain systems through multidisciplinary academic preparation and a “glocal” experience, capable of combining global aspects with local ones.
